Glendale DUI Madness: Yet Another School Bus Driver Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated

Your Glendale DUI charge is serious, and you may feel deeply ashamed and regretful for what’s happened.Bus-driving-dui-glendale.jpg

But at least (hopefully) you weren’t driving a school bus while DUI, like 67-year-old Ethel Quade Ressler allegedly did.

Local authorities say that the St. Mary’s County bus driver was driving recklessly with 12 kids already loaded onboard. Officers called to the scene noticed alcohol on Ms. Ressler’s breath – a classic symptom of driving under the influence in Glendale or elsewhere. They then put her through the paces of a field sobriety test, which she failed. After the arrest, Ressler tried to hurt herself, so authorities took her to the hospital.

The woman had been driving school buses for 47 years for her school district – nearly five decades! – and had never gotten a DUI or failed a drug test.

Obviously, we can’t discern the deeper details of her case from simple news blurbs. However, the story certainly implies that there might have been something deeper going on in her life that led her to make a mistake and get arrested for DUI.

We live in a society in which we like to catalog and punish “bad guys” and reward “good guys.” But this woman spent nearly five decades of her life in service to the school district, during which time, she apparently carefully shuttled children to and from their homes and school. Prior to the DUI arrest, she was probably considered “one of the good guys.”

A single mistake can cause a kind of polar opposite shift in public opinion.

After all, we certainly don’t want school bus drivers toodling around Glendale DUI. Yet DUI defendants deserve empathy and support as well. That’s one of the reasons why the team here at the Kraut Law Group is so passionate about providing good service.

Whether this is your first arrest or fifth, you likely need diverse and empathetic assistance with what’s been going on in your life. Attorney Kraut is an ex-prosecutor for the city, and he brings to bear an intelligent and compassionate perspective. He also has a reputation for being extremely aggressive and smart about building and executing Glendale DUI defenses.

Tonight’s Changes to New Hampshire DWI Laws: More Important Than Ever Not to Answer Cop Questions

New Hampshire DWI laws . Happy New Years every one. Please celebrate responsibly.

Effective tonight after midnight, some horrible changes take effect to New Hampshire’s DWI laws.  Unhappy with the amount of drivers arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and controlled drugs, the lawmakers have broadly expanded New Hampshire’s DWI law to include driving “under the influence” of “any over the counter drug, or any other chemical, natural or synthetic, which impairs a person’s ability to drive”.  You can now be prosecuted for driving under the influence of spinach.

This makes it more important than ever not to answer a single question a cop asks you if you are stopped.  It may be unwise for you to answer any of a cop’s questions about medications. If he is asking you about medications he has probably already decided to arrest you; he is getting you to admit to prescription medication use. If they don’t know what you have taken don’t tell them!  You have the right to a lawyer and the right to remain silent when the police try to question you about anything. You Don’t Have to Talk to the Cops! Here is a YouTube video on this subject:

Lawyer Up! Call me today at 1-603-893-0074 right now! Don’t tell them you have a cold, cough or any other illness, don’t tell them what you ate, drank, smoked or snorted, and have a Happy New Year!!!

Do You Have An Arraignment in a New Hamphire District Court Coming Up?

New Hampshire DWI Lawyer. Do you have an arraignment coming up for a criminal charge in a New Hampshire court?  This is an important step in New Hampshire criminal case procedure.  It is also a step at which a lot of people make mistakes because they do not have a New Hampshire criminal defense lawyer yet.  When you arrive at Court, there will be a roll call to see if every one who has an arraignment is present.  Some times the clerk will ask you “how are you going to plead?“.  And you may have no idea what you should do, what the options are, or what the consequences of your actions will be.  This is a scary process.

As this video explains, the best answer is to plead “not guilty” until you can consult with a New Hampshire criminal defense lawyer.

There are a huge number of arraignments scheduled for December 31st this year in New Hampshire courts.  This is in part because there are usually a high number of arrests between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.  It is also in part due to changes the New Hampshire legislature has made to New Hampshire DWI laws, which require rapid procedural program requirements for New Hampshire DWI convictions.  The lawmakers have made it harder than ever for you to get your license back due to the number of time consuming hoops you will have to jump through if you are convicted of DWI.  So be careful when you are asked how you are going to plead.  There are an unusually large number of arraignments scheduled for the 10 Circuit Court in Salem (formerly known as “The Salem District Court”).

A CALL TO ACTION:

Don’t be a victim of this process because you are scared!  Call me right now before your arraignment at 1.603.893.0074 Call 24/7.  Feel free to program my number into your cell phone right now in case you need it later.  If you are unsure how to plead at your arraignment don’t plead guilty until you have had a chance to speak with me.

I look forward to speaking with you and trying to help you have a Happy New Year!
